Chambers is a fantastic songwriter in her own right. A great, ironic lyricist. She started out with country music but branched off into many other areas. She's a huge talent, as is everyone in her band, as you pointed out . . . a ton of talented people. As an American fan for a long time, I'm happy she's getting attention outside of Australia. This truly is a great song about a horrible long war, which really lasted more than a lifetime of many. Joakim (the singer) even clarified this in one of many interviews, in response to some narrowminded ignorant prejudice: "No, we are absolutely NOT glorifying war. [in that nice, no nonse and matter of fact tone] That would be STUPID! We simply tell [historic] stories, so we might understand and learn from them". And that's just it, we should all remember and learn from the stories of our human history, so as not to repeat the mistakes and create our own future. War has taken far too many young lives already throughout history. And remember, it is never about the violence, it is about what we are defending! About what we value so highly we are willing to risk our lives for it! The heroes of Poland lived this in the 2nd world war [Ref. Uprising and 40:1], and the brave amazing heroes of Ukraine are still living it right now! We have alot of freedoms today which too many are taking for granted. Well, freedom ain't free! This is the first time I’ve seen your content pop up on my feed. I assume it’s because we both like H.I.M or VV aka Ville Valo. I’ve listened to all of their albums.. I’ve seen the farewell tour at H.O.Blues In Orlando,Florida. That happened to be the 3rd time I’ve seen H.I.M at same venue. I was heartbroken when they called it quits. That was 2017… 3 years later we had the COVID pandemic… 3 years of not being able to go to ANY major gathering of People…. It totally sucked.. then in 2022 i found out Ville Valo was fixing to do a tour.. H.O.B Orlando, Florida was listed on the tour… purchased ticket as soon as it was available.. got early access to ticket through Code… man I was so excited when I got a ticket…the hardest part was waiting for a year to see concert.. it was so welcomed and needed.. if not known the thing that blew my mind is that all of the instruments on the album were all played by him. Such talent and of course the mesmerizing voice

i think why this song hits so hard emotionally, **in my opinion,** is the fact that there's a fine line that this song walks, that includes hope and despair. as well as for the harsh vocals having that *something* (maybe conviction, raw emotion?) behind it that it feels like he is letting out all the pain in a scream, while instilling hope with the lyrics, speaks on such a level. And the feeling of having others at your back in a song form is so unique, and it hits home for a lot of us. myself included.

HI Steve! I know I'm very late to the party, have been watching your old content since finding your channel but couldn't pass by this one without leaving a comment. I think it's amazing that you managed to work through the anxiety to make this, and also that you are working so hard to fight your own demons. It isn't an easy thing to do and sometimes seems insurmountable, but so long as you keep that attitude of "I'm not gunna fall this time" you'll be able to keep pushing. So yeah, as someone who can relate to a lot of this, the struggles and the music (hybrid theory was the first album I ever bought for myself too!!), I just wanted to send some love and wish you the best, genuineness inspires people to be genuine and that is what is coming across from you!

Chief - “it’s just… you know?” We know, brother. You say you could rant for hours. Well I could listen to you rant for hours about this stuff, and HEAR you, and connect. But the people who don’t know, who do need to hear it, are precisely the ones who… water off a ducks back mate. It makes me sweaty too 😂 I am so hopeful that Ren is slowly reaching people inside all of the different bubbles. Even musically, there’s so much blended together there. Like I’m not big on most of those genre influences he pulls from, but he always always has me so CAPTIVATED, musically, before I’ve clocked the message, I can’t even blink until it’s over, and even when it’s over it stays echoing. So I’m hoping more and more people can be as gripped as that, because the man is speaking universal truth, whatever the sound of the package it’s in.
